At AZ Doxies, we are committed to raising dachshunds with health, structure, and temperament as our top priorities. Every one of our dogs is part of our family, raised in our home, and supported by science-backed health testing.

At AZ Doxies, dachshunds are more than dogs — they are cherished family members. Our breeding program was built on the belief that quality comes from health, love, and responsibility.

We are located in Florida but work with families across the United States who are looking for a dachshund raised with care. By focusing on DNA testing, proper structure, and early socialization, we give every dog the foundation for a long, healthy, and happy life.

Health Testing & DNA Screening

The heart of our program is health. Every dachshund in our breeding program is DNA tested through trusted laboratories to ensure they are free from hereditary conditions that can affect the breed.

IVDD Awareness & Prevention

Dachshunds are loved for their long, low bodies — but this structure can increase the risk of IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). At AZ Doxies, we take this risk seriously.

We select parent dogs with sound body structure to help reduce strain on their backs and joints.

We educate families on lifestyle choices (avoiding high jumps, maintaining proper weight, safe play) that support spinal health.

Our goal is to give every dachshund the strongest possible foundation for a long, active life.

Veterinary Care & Wellness

All of our dogs receive regular veterinary care, ensuring they remain in peak health throughout their lives. Puppies born into our program receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and wellness exams before leaving for their forever homes, along with a Florida state health certificate.

We also maintain detailed health records, which are shared openly with families as part of our commitment to honesty and transparency.

Structure & Temperament

At AZ Doxies, we understand that a dachshund must be more than cute — it should also be structurally sound and have the right temperament to thrive in a family environment.

Structure: We evaluate our dachshunds for correct topline, body balance, and movement. Proper conformation supports lifelong mobility and reduces the risk of injuries.

Temperament: Loving, loyal, and playful — dachshunds should be wonderful companions. We select breeding dogs with stable, affectionate personalities that pass to their puppies.

Socialization: All of our dachshunds are raised in our home, surrounded by daily family life, so they grow into confident, people-friendly companions.

These are some of the best puppies I have ever seen. Our puppy came from Sooty and Bruiser's puppies. We took Rocket to our vet and the whole staff was amazed at how beautifully built he was as well as his laid back temperament. Extremely smart as well. He is an amazing emotional support dog. He's going to be so handsome when he fills in.

The breeder kept us up to date with videos of Rocket's growth every step of the way. Watching their noses grow and weekly reports made this so much fun as well.

The puppies come already microchipped and all paperwork. You also get reminders when it's time for their next round of shots.
