The Dachshund breed standard according to FCI

The FCI is the largest international federation of national kennel clubs and pure-bred registries and has 98 members and contract partners.

AKC standards are inferior to FCI standards because:

1) Dachshunds originate from Germany which is an FCI country
2) There are 98 FCI countries in the world which adhere to these standards. AKC represents one country.

If you follow FCI standards, you will easily achieve AKC standards. That does not work in the reverse. If you follow AKC standards you will not achieve FCI standards.

We have attached the official updated FCI standards document.
